Their stories in the dark 深颜色的故事

Their Stories in the Dark is an interactive/installation piece that investigate the intimate stories which people are not fully comfortable sharing in the public. Through close interactions and connections with the subject, I gained the privilege to peak into their personal perceptions in which they perceive the world through.

Each model had their portraiture printed and placed within a shadowbox with their own graffitis on top, the graffitis are consisted with the innermost dialogues in which they perceive themselves as. Underneath each shadowbox, there is a scroll with typewritten paragraphs communicates the stories of their lives which they hardly shared with anyone. Right beside the photographs, there is a table with a vintage typewriter sitting on top, there is a scroll of paper inserted where the audience would have the freedom to type down their own stories (see the last image).

The underlying motive of the piece is to use the three figures as the entrance points into the innermost being each of us possess, and by letting loose their personal facade to encourage the audience members to accept their own vulnerabilities.
